Vinca L. Jarrett, Esq. is an entertainment lawyer and president of FilmPro Finance, a financial consulting service for investors and producers for funding one-off films and building film slates.  She has worked on many slate financing deals with banks and investment banks including CIBC, West LB, Bank of America, Merrill Lynch and ICB to introduce financiers to top tiered producers with A-list packaged projects for slate financing. Her top tiered clients have included Cosmic Entertainment, APG, Icon, Focus Films and the producers of Catch Me if You Can and I Robot. Filmpro has served as the holding company for financing distribution of films that include DIE HARD 4, THE DAY THE EARTH STOOD STILL, and ALIENS VS. PREDATORS.  Other film projects she has counseled include SWING AWAY, which wrapped in June, 2015, and filmed in Greece starring Shannon Elizabeth, GAME FOR MOTEL ROOM, shot in Boston in January, 2015, starring French actor Pierre Perrier, and currently in post-production, PEACE, LOVE AND MISUNDERSTANDING which premiered at Toronto International Film Festival in 2011 and is directed by Bruce Beresford starring Jane Fonda, Catherine Keneer and Elizabeth Olsen; THE PERFECT GAME directed by William Dear, starring Clifton Collins Jr., Cheech Marin and Moises Arias, released theatrically in April 2010 and on VOD and DVD in summer 2012, THE FOURTH KIND starring Milla Jovovich and Will Patton, which released in Fall 2009 and surpassed $50M in worldwide profits and for which she is a co-executive producer; the micro independent YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO REMAIN VIOLENT released straight to video in 2010 for which she is an executive producer; DISAPPEARANCES directed by indie veteran Jay Craven starring Kris Kristofferson and Luis Guzman in 2007; THE CAVERN, a horror feature released by Sony Pictures in 2006; THE STRANGLER’S WIFE, a Roger Corman film distributed worldwide in 2003; and THE RISING PLACE directed by Tom Rice, and starring Frances Fischer, Frances Sternhagen, Tess Harper, Gary Cole and Liam Aiken in 2001. She has also counseled numerous documentaries including RAISING MATTY CHRISTIAN, which has won 10+ festivals and recently screened as part of the Docs Corner at Cannes Film Festival, Far Out Isn’t Far Enough: The Tomi Ungerer Story, which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival in September, 2012 and was recently released theatrically in the US; WITCH HUNT, narrated by Sean Penn which premiered at the 2008 Toronto International Film Festival and sold at AFM to NBC Universal airing nationwide on network television in 2009; MISSION TO MATRIMONY about the legalization of gay marriage which screened at HBO; THE SURGE by Deborah Scranton shown on PBS’s Frontline in 2008; TOUCHING THE GAME: ALASKA which completed in 2009 following the successful release of TOUCHING THE GAME: CAPE COD which aired on the WB in 2004/2005. Vinca is an Associate Producer of the Off-Broadway Play 5 LESBIANS EATING A QUICHE which ran in 2012 at the Soho Playhouse and opened in summer 2013 in Provincetown, produced by Tony Award Winning client John Pinckard (A Gentlemens Guide to Love and Murder, Clyborne Park, American Idiot, Hair).  She also represents Golden Horde Entertainment as producer of the Off-Broadway hit FREUD’S LAST SESSION which ran for two years to rave reviews in New York, and now is being staged worldwide. She is also counsel to Golden Horde’s narrative film DON’T STOP ME NOW based on the Bafta Award Winning feature documentary, The Boy Whose Skin Fell OffOther client projects include an animated feature entitled LAZY JACK, produced by Tony Award and Olivier Award Winning producer Jack Dalgleish (Spring Awakening, Dream Girls), and WERNER’S TURN, to be directed by Jim Amatulli (Flying By, Artworks), the true story of undercover cop Chip Werner who was set up by Whitey Bulger and the FBI as he is about to bring down indictments; and I AM LUPE written by James Manos (Dexter), and starring Lauren Velez (Dexter) and pop star Ricky Martin.  She is also counsel to the leading U.S. art house cinema, the COOLIDGE CORNER THEATRE FOUNDATION. She has represented several tax credit jurisdictions including Puerto Rico, Louisiana and Arizona, and helped to create the first film tax credit in Massachusetts.  Vinca is co-chair of the prestigious BLOOMBERG INTERNATIONAL FILM & TV FINANCE SUMMIT which takes place bi-annually in New York and LA.  She speaks around the world on film finance addressing investors, financiers and industry professionals, and has appeared as a featured key note speaker and on panels at Cannes, Berlinale, Toronto International Film Festival, Turks & Caicos International Film Festival, and at festivals and throughout New England, as well as at Harvard University, MIT, Boston University, Emerson College, Boston College, UCLA, NYU, NY Film Academy and Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD). Vinca led two TV panel at Cannes for Bloomberg TV in 2012, one on bank financing with bankers from National Bank of California, 120db, Coutts and National Bank of Canada, the other on the currently released feature Lawless with its Executive Producers, Cassian Elwes and Rob Barnum; appeared on CBS News in 2015 related to the MA Film Tax Credits; has been interviewed on NPR’s All Things Considered (2011) on the economic relevance of film tax credits; Fox Business News (2010) on issues of studio financing and other news programming, as well as been featured in several film industry periodicals.  She is currently writing the non-fiction work SHOW ME THE F#©K!NG MONEY: HOW TO INVEST, RAISE AND RECOUP MONEY IN THE FILM INDUSTRY and launched in 2014 a TV web series of the same name with LA based manager/producer Steven Adams, as co-host, co-creator, and co-producer, in which Vinca interviews A-list film financiers and industry professionals with new episodes going up every Wednesday. The show can be seen with new weekly episodes on Vinca is on the Board of Directors of INTERLOCK MEDIA, a documentary film non-profit organization, and COMPANY ONE, named Boston’s Best Theatre Company in 2013 by the improper Bostonian and recipient of many Elliot Norton Awards.  She has served as the Chairperson of the Arts & Entertainment Committee of the Boston Bar Association, been a member and Board Chair of ImprovBoston, and been a Board of Advisor to the Golden Trailer Awards.  A native New Yorker, whose extended family is based in Los Angeles, she currently resides in Boston, Massachusetts.
