Jackie Motsepe, currently serves as Chief Operations Officer at the Kwa Zulu Natal Film Commission, in South Africa. has more than fifteen years experience across a broad spectrum of communications, media relations, marketing, stakeholder relations, both in South Africa and overseas, including strategic Planning management and implementation in the area of Communications, Marketing, Stakeholder Relations and media relations. She is in charge of promotion of the country, South Africa as a destination for film production.

Steven & JackiePrior to her work on the Commission, she was General Manager at the South African Broadcasting Corporation in Johannesburg, South Africa responsible for the acquisition of international content for the three national television stations, including television content for all genres including movies, dramas, soap operas, sitcoms and chidren’s programmes. She handled negotiation of major deals for prime content, cost effectively and within the parameters of the broadcasters policies and procedures. She also held the position of Head of Marketing and Public Affairs for the National Film and Video Foundation (NFVF), Johannesburg, South Africa, a statutory body promoting the growth and development of the South African film industry. As the first Head of Marketing and Public Affairs at the NFVF, Jackie was responsible for introducing the South African film industry to the international and national arena. She helped to lay the foundation for the promotion of South African film and affording the industry respect and prominence on the international platform. As such she helped to determine suitable platforms for showcasing the work of South African film professionals to the international film community, and was responsible for spearheading the establishment of the South African film and television awards to celebrate and acknowledge success and talent in the South African film and television industry.

Jackie was also a Marketing Manager at the National Electronic Media Institute of South Africa (NEMISA), a training facility funded by the Department of Communications to train candidates in film and television production. At NEMISA, Jackie helped to formalise and manage their Marketing Department. Jackie also served as Executive Assistant to the Board for SABC – Johannesburg, where she served the first SABC board. A year later she was appointed Consumer Marketing Manager for SABC3, conducting consumer related marketing activities and media liaison pertaining which attracts the middle and upper income consumer. Working in close contact with the external advertising agency, founded and developed the Shoprite Checkers Women’s Award on behalf of the channel, as a member of the professional team, Jackie was tasked with the development of the newly launched SABC3 brand.
Over the years Jackie gained valuable insight into the broadcast media from both a policy and marketing perspective, focusing on different target markets segments of the South African public.

Jackie has a B.A. in Sociology and Psychology from Sunderland Polytechnic (now University of Sunderland), UK. She also completed the Management Advancement Programme, Wits Business School, Johannesburg South Africa, the Strategic Marketing Management, Wits Business School, Johannesburg South Africa, and the Leadership Development Programme, GIBBS, Johannesburg South Africa.
