Katherine Tallman

Executive Director & CEO
Coolidge Corner Theatre Foundation

Katherine Tallman is Executive Director and CEO of Coolidge Corner Theatre Foundation, an art house cinema and community cultural center in Brookline, MA.  The Coolidge opened in 1933 and was formed as a nonprofit in 1989, following a successful community effort to save it from near-demise.  A renovation completed in 2008 restored its original art deco glory.  The Coolidge is a vital cultural and economic asset to Brookline and to greater Boston, serving over 220,000 patrons a year, and is nationally renowned as a cinematic venue, and for its special programming and ‘movie-plus’ offerings.  With support from the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation, the Coolidge has expanded its Science on Screen program to 38 cinemas nationwide.

Today, along with the Board of Directors, Katherine is leading an initiative to expand the Coolidge, its programming and its community role, and to secure its long-term future.

Prior to her appointment in 2013 as Executive Director, she was Vice Chair and a long-term, active member of the Board of Directors.  She has served on the boards of numerous other nonprofit organizations.

Katherine’s other professional experience includes:

President: New England School of Acupuncture (non profit graduate school and recipient of grants from the National Institutes of Health and Department of Defense)

Senior Vice President: State Street, a Fortune 500 financial services firm, where she managed the successful launch of two technology-based products and services.

Vice President, AEW Capital Management, a commercial real estate investment management firm, where she managed portfolios and relationships on behalf of top tier corporate and institutional clients.

Katherine started her career in public accounting, is a Certified Public Accountant and has an MBA with a concentration in Finance.

She is an avid film fan and was delighted to find the Coolidge when she relocated to Brookline from the Detroit area in 1987.  She also is a patron and supporter of performing arts, including theatre, dance and music.

Katherine and her husband, Peter Norstrand, reside in Jamaica Plain, MA.
