After journeying through various film industry jobs, which ran the gamut from producer assistant, production assistant, domestic theatrical sales, domestic marketing, acquisitions, Ms. Stone started her own Film & TV production company after a call from Spike Lee when he asked her to come to produce an indie he was Executive Producing.

Vinca & ShelbyAfter producing that film, Ms. Stone went on to make a series of films for HBO including BOYCOTT, Lumumba, Middle Passage, and Lackawanna Blues, eventually leaving independent producing in 2006 for Jamie Foxx’s production company Foxx/King Entertainment, as Sr. VP of Production and Development.

In 2009 Ms. Stone joined Shakim Compere & Queen Latifah’s Flavor Unity Entertainment as President of Production.

During her tenure at Flavor Unity, she produced three seasons of Single Ladies (VH1’s first foray into scripted series), Steel Magnolia’s for Lifetime, five seasons of Lets Say Together for BET, Regina King’s directorial debut, Let the Church Say Amen, and for HBO Films, Bessie (Spring 2015)

Over the years the film & TV projects she’s produced have received numerous nominations and won over sixty awards including Emmys, Golden Globes, NAACP Image Awards, The Humanitas Award, and The George Peabody Award, additionally collecting trophies from AFI, SAG, and DGA.

Ms. Stone is very proud to have received the Black Women Film Preservation Award.
